Golden October

October 2014 was an exquisite, golden month. The weather was gorgeous beyond compare. Our family was perfectly happy. Life was gorgeous and fun and good!  It was a beautiful month.

One weekend we drove up into the mountains to enjoy the lovely fall colors and sunshine. Tyler, Taylor and darling Oaklee met us there and we enjoyed a picnic lunch, talking and playing.

Halloween Day 2014

A few more last things from Halloween.

We had our traditional Ghostie Pancakes for breakfast.
Then, as Katelee's room mom, I got to help with her class party!
Here is Katelee's craft she made!
And Katelee's selfie at school during the party. :)
After the parade was the school-wide costume parade. Here she is marching in the parade.
I love holidays with kids! They are so much fun!!

Halloween Carnival

Katelee's school always has a super fun Halloween carnival, and this year did not disappoint. We all had a wonderful time!

 face painting!
 Oooooo... Scary!

Trick-or-Treat

This was one of our BEST Halloween's ever! Blake was old enough this year to understand trick-or-treating, and he loved it! Katelee was old enough to want to venture outside of our usual small neighborhood, and after Gerald took Blake home to eat some treats and rest we continued on for our longest trick-or-treating route yet with our friends the Budds. Oh, and my kids had AWESOME costumes. :)

Meet Hermione.

And (of course!) my fire fighter.

Blake wore his hat backward all night and carried this water gun, because he has a mind of his own and just KNOWS how he wants things. Love it!

Cornbelly's!

Every autumn Cornbelly's comes to Thanksgiving Point, and every year Katelee begs to go.  It's a huge fall carnival with so much to do that I decided to take a whole day with the kids during school Fall break this school year and go have fun. And boy, did we sure have fun! It was an exciting and exhausting day!!

This boy has mastered the smirk. :)

More smirking . . . I promise he was having fun! So much fun that he couldn't be bothered with taking pictures!
Katelee loved jumping on this huge air pillow!
It was warm, but nothing could convince firefighter Blake to remove his fireman jacket.
The Wizard of Oz was this year's theme.

Blake is crying because I made him sit still for a few seconds for a picture. Katelee, as you can see, is enjoying sitting down for a bit. It's hard work having so much fun!

So. Much. Corn.

Lost in the corn maze! And tired of mom taking pictures, I think. :)

This cow ride was a favorite, along with all the large slides.
Too bumpy to take pictures, but we're having fun!
So strong!

What a fun day!

Fall Fun 2014

Last fall, while all the dads went to the Priesthood session of General Conference, a few good friends and I got together and made caramel apples with the kids. We had such a fun night talking, letting kids play, and making treats together!  We love the Nelson family, who hosted, and are so thankful for their friendship over the past decade.
